plain iced sponge cakes??

does anyone know where I can buy some plain iced sponge cakes?? I need 5 for this saturday so I can iced names on for a joint birthday party.
I don't think I'm up to baking 5 of them in a day!!

They do plain ones in Tesco - the ones they use to print photos onto, rather expensive for this purpose though!
Unless of course you put pictures on the cakes instead of names?What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

M&S used to do an iced jam and buttercream sponge that was fairly plain - it had piping round the top and bottom but no other decoration. I think they still do them but they might be something you have to order.0

Depending on your budget & the size of cakes you are after, you can do all five cakes for around £4.72. Asda Smartprice Raspberry Sponge 46p each, Smartprice Ready to Roll Icing 250g 43p each, & a jar of SP Marmalade to adhere the icing. Hope this helps & good luck!0

i bought some from asda for my wedding they do 3 different sizes plain sponge and fruit. they are not too expensive either think they start at around 4 quidbest win in 2011:eek: 4 nights in Las Vegas :eek:

my daughters love the Morrisons fresh cream sponges just decorated with your simple mix it with water icing sugar and then decorated however we want.0
