Bristol and West BTL mortgage - redemption penalty

Hi all

Am selling my BTL flat in London and will be liable for £10k early repayment charge as my Bristol and West mortgage has another 18 months before the end of its fixed rate.

Bristol and West say the only way of avoiding this is to complete on another property on the same day. I know other lenders give up to six months' leeway between completing on your sale and completing on another purchase; during this time they will refund the early repayment charge although obviously it still has to be paid in the first place.

My question is, has anyone had any luck persuading B&W to be a bit more flexible than same-day completion as the only way of avoiding the early repayment charge?

Thanks in advance
Dan
