Twin pack of drier balls 99p at B&M store. I have seen these at £1.49 at Netto and higher at other stores.
If youre like our house using the drier more often than before due to the cold weather, these things are supposed to give you more efficient drying results with 25% less drying time.

They are ok for 99p, worth a buy. They don't last as long as the JML ones but when I bought them they lasted a few weeks and my tumble dryer is on 2 or 3 times a week. The plastic went kind of 'rubbery' and malleable after a while but they definitely cut down drying time considerably.
I don't understand what you mean by 'shredded in to little bits' molthedoll? I think you may have had some faulty ones?

i mean just that when i emptied my laundry out of the drier there were loads of little rubbery bits within the clothes
maybe they were faulty maybe not - all i know is that I would not but cheap ones again - the savings gained would not outweigh how much it would cost to repair the drier if it was wrecked as a result of the use of these particular drier ballsbargain shopping is the only way to shop :j0 -
mine melted also. That was with the drier on a cooler setting and after 3rd use.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0
