Barclays are closeing my currant account

i knew something was not right when i went into my online banking saturday, tax credits had added some of my money and basically it wasnt letting me have it, i realised my overdraft had been cancelled.
then yesterday i recieved a termination letter telling me the remainder of my overdraft (159.57) had to be paid by the 7/7/06 and i would now be charged 18p in interest per day untill the oweing amount is paid, in some ways its good that child benifit and rest of my tax credits went in this morning (my own fault for not ringing them before saturday to change payment to my new nationwide account) so i no longer owe barclays anything(good thing is they get no more interest from me) i have a plus balance(not the biggest amount only 27.00, but im now down for next month by around 150 quid ouch some better budgeting needed) however i cannot seem to transfer it out of the account, if i cannot now draw the rest out or transfer it out what happens on the 7th when they fully close my account? do i get whats left in there or will they keep it

im sure this must be down to the fact of the loans and now being with payplan as they have no other reason to be closeing my account.

i feel stressed with all this we are still getting letters from barclaycard and the loan, they have passed the barclay card on to mercers(excuse spelling) who seem to ring 50 times a day ok not quite this much but its at least evry hour

we have had a huge problem with dh cc they went for an attachment of wages and the army have awarded them 300 a month before dh even gets his wages thankfully paypal have just lowered what we pay untill next march when these !!!!!! are paid off, they did try and fight our case but the cc would not budge (saying that would you if you had been told you could have the 300.00!)

sorry for the ramble i just cannot sleep it seems july is going to be a tough month taken to selling on ebay again we tried a car boot but out stuff went for way under what it was worth.

if any one has any tips also on how we can cut back so we dont miss that extra this month i would be so gratefull the only way i can think is to miss paying gas/elec and pay double in august when we have no playschool fees to pay, the 35 ish im makeing on ebay doesnt really scratch the surface as yet so fingers crossed some more bits sell

sorry again for the ramble, ive not been online for ages

There is another thread somewhere about someone else (sorry, can't remember who) who got slung out of a Barclays branch recently. There seems to be a lot of it going on.

I think juggling is the only answer - you've got a little bit of leeway with the playschool fees. However, do you need to pay childcare fees during school hols??

Maybe you could ring gas/elec companies and tell them what you are planning to do this month, they may be able to put your account on hold rather than get stroppy with you because they've had no money. Or they may be able to reduce your payments for the next couple of months? Its worth the question.

Also, check out the OS board for money saving tips re housekeeping - you may well be able to save a bit more to ease that £150 shortage.

Good luck with extracting your money from Barclays :)
