That's a lot of meat for 2 adults & 1 child for a week....especially if you are buying cooked meat as well. Why not try some veggie meals to recude your costs & meat consumption?

TBH Floss I usually divi up the meat to make it stretch into the next week by freezing some which means the following week I can get other things we need. :)

Aha, that's all right then! Good planning, Loobylou!
  • Can you do an online shopping list go to tesco online and start shopping but dont checkout, I mean before you go shopping, that way you can fiddle around with it til the price is right, look for the right stuff or other stuff, write it down and the price and then you know what youre going to buy when you get to the real shop.

    Hi There

not sure how you got on with the shop - but i noticed the three packs of cold meat - these tend to be expensive. Could you use some other kind of filling if its for sandwiches? egg mayo etc - otherwise - what about roasting a joint of meat and cutting slices yourself - chicken and mayo or coronation chicken fillings dont even need full slices. It may help stretch things for you - the bones can do a good base for soup if boiled.

I agree with the rubber chicken thread - you could also get mince and stretch it to make bolognaise and chilli with any left over doing you for a lunch with a baked potato. We only buy cold meat when its on whoops!

Its easier to eat less meat with these kind of ideas.

    Best of luck
