Laptop USB port help

Hi everyone

I have a laptop with 3 usb ports
Sadly two are now unuseable due to me being clumsy :o

Is it relatively easy for someone who has electronic repairs exp to relpace them ?
Is it viable cost wise ? can they easily be purchased ?

Or is this a job that a PC repair place could easily do ?

Don't really want to buy a new laptop

I know you can buy hubs that plug into the one remaining but would rather repair if possible

would involve stripping the whole laptop down , then resoldering new ports (which may damage the motherboard) so I would say the not viable because of the cost ...

I got a 4 port one from Poundland - USB 2.0, and it works fine. I think it cost me about £1.00

If your laptop has a PCMCIA (also called PC Card) or Express Card slot then you can add a card with USB ports on it. I see recent 'home' targeted laptops now dont include this port as they once did.

You can get them in 2 or 4 port.

That model supports ExpressCard/34 (34 mm) and ExpressCard/54 (54 mm)
    1.5 V and 3.3 V. The manual is here

The USB ports on that model are directly onto the system board.
