I bought 2 of these in Aldi before christmas for £8.99 each.

They work very well, so I am told.

Forgot to buy myself one though. ;D

    Thanks O.P.

My daughter asked me to buy her one of these for Christmas.

It'll do for her birthday now.

Yes they are better, but not by 5 times. I got one of these over a year ago and had the occassion to use it the christmas just gone. It is amazing how it works, you site the screw on the cork, hold tight, lever down and then up. Still would not pay £10 for one.
Do you make things happen, watch things happen, or just wonder, what happened?

I did see one in a fancy box in Debenhams for £89! - For a CORKSCREW!!!!
    ;D

The Debenhams ones were exactly the same as the Aldi ones, but in a different box, just shows how we can be ripped off quite easily.

It does say also that they are not recommended for synthetic corks because of the teflon coating on the screw.

I still use a twist and pull one though, as it works fine for me, and like others would not buy myself one for more than a tenner.

The name of the site should definately be changed. How can it save money......

I do not even drink anything that requires a corkscrew and was 2 miliseconds from clicking the order button on play.com before coming to my senses.......:)
  • Robert Dyas have one for £7.49
