Is this a bonkers idea?!

I've been trying to find a wedding ceremony venue, but my area seems devoid of suitable venues unless you want to get married in a hotel, which I don't.
So....had a read up online and my idea is this:
Get married in the registry office in the morning
Then have a renewal of vows ceremony with a registrar or a wedding celebration ceremony (as you can hold them anywhere) in the afternoon under the pagoda in our nearest park (picturesque but obviously pending the council's agreement - if we actually even need to tell them.) Now this would be our 'proper' ceremony - no problem as we'd be married legally from the morning.
Then we'd hold our wedding reception in the venue next to the park which is unfortunately not approved for ceremonies.
Can I actually do that? Seems too easy?

not bonkers at all.
I have experienced several 'weddings' (I'm a photographer) where the couple have already been married for a few hours or days.
plan your day as you like so you enjoy it !!
Hiring a wedding photographer? Remember to check out their samples and previous work before you book !

I think it's a great idea. After all, loads of Asian couples do that - sometimes the civil ceremony is weeks or days before the religious one.
You do what feels right for you! Congratulations!0 -
I think it's a great idea. My friend got married that way in November - did the deed in the registry office on the Friday and had a ceremony with a friend doing the vows bit on the Sunday and then a lovely big meal and party after. It really was lovely, I say go for it!0

I think it sounds do-able but the only thing you need to think about is that the park is a public place so any Tom, !!!!!! or Chav can join your wedding ceremony....It all works out good in the end.If it's not good, it's not the end!0
