Anyone need help in M33?

I heard a care worker on the radio talking about how this weather is a nightmare for careworkers because if they don't get there the old people just don't eat. So... is there anyone out there worried about an old/ill person in Sale, Manchester? I live here, my work is closed so I'm free today, and I'm happy to pay a visit and check on people/cook for them etc if anyone needs it, as long as I can walk there, because my car is buried.

Fortunately I have my cousin in Stretford looking after me, so I don't need help like I might have done if he weren't around, but thank you so much for putting this offer forward to all of us, Temba! It's really sweet.

Thanks guys. I wasn't trying to get a golden halo by posting this, I really was genuinely concerned that there are people out there with no way of getting help for shopping etc. There ought to be some sort of network, a number people can ring if they can offer local help or if they need it. I know plenty of people who would gladly pop in on a neighbour and I'm also sure that sadly there are plenty of people living close by who need the help right now but have no way of asking for it.

On a brighter note I popped in on my spritely 98 year old neighbour and his 95 year old wife today.:D They are perfectly happy, in a lovely heated home, with a weeks' worth of shopping thanks to their son who lives locally. If only all older folk were so lucky.

Trialia PM me if you need anything.
