Howdo, I have noticed that Soda Crystals are a lot more expensive now. I have recently seen them at 99p in Tesco 90-something in Asda and 77p in Wilko's.
Anyone else noticed?

Yep, I noticed, seem to start late last year
I suspect it is a bit of a trade off, you know the kind of thing, pack of bangers for 50p? Certainly Madam, excuse me while I adjust the price of other items to maintain my profit margins :rotfl:Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Yes soda crystals , bicarb, stardrops and smart price/basic washing powder, bleach, and all smart price / basic products have all got more expensive and the washing powder has gone up by a hefty 52p!Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

yes, it really annoys me that meat of dubious provenance and doubtful nutrition is practically given away, while household basics go up.
Mr T value toilet rolls have not only gone up but they are no longer made from recycled paper, so that the environment is losing out as well as our pockets!0 -
oh i had a quick rant to OH the other day when i asked him to bring in the big double pack of mince from Mr T's so i could batch cook (and bulk out!) he duly got said pack and i noted it was a good price but also that it had gone down in weight! i am positive it was 900g when i last bought it........down to 800g now....thats what these supermarkets do they change the goal posts to confuse. I quite like Aldi/lidl for that because you get to know all the products pretty well and notice these things a bit better.......Every Penny's a prisoner :T0

To be fair, the RRP of Soda Crystals has been 84p for years...it's just that the supermarkets have always chosen it to be one of their competitive/comparative basket type products. They're still very good value though..we've just had it VERY good for a while :T
I'd noticed that the Dolce Gusto capsules that used to be about £2.70 in the supermarkets jumped up to £3.30 last summer  They do seem to have come down a bit in price though now. Some you win.....some you lose.0
