not receiving cards from people?

I cut back on sending cards when I realised some people only rushed out and sent a card once they received one from me, made me feel a bit of a twit really, thought they were sort of friends!!

i send cards to close family and certain friends every year - I have no idea if everyone sends them back cos oh opens post as well as me and just sticks the cards up.

The funny thing is, my oh never writes cards and assumes that I will write all the ones to his friends as well. Other friends have mentioned that their husbands/partners never write cards either - I am concerned that my husband lost the ability to write after signing the marriage certificate:rotfl:

i used to send alot of cards but now do family and close friends did tell peeps this year at work and girls school that we would donate to charity this year instead sending cards and they were fine with it, never really dropped anyone because didnt recieve one back though

I would like to think that the people we send cards to wouldn't drop us just because we haven't sent cards this year.

Sometimes there are genuine reasons behind it - this year we didn't send any cards as our youngest son (7 months) was in and out of hospital the whole month with breathing difficulties. Not everyone was aware of this but we still got loads of Christmas Cards and fingers crossed we will next year too.

We did genuinely have them to write, but with 2 other children at home and trying to keep on top of everything while practically living in the hospital we just couldn't get them done!
