There's a puritanical bent amongst some who's default position is always DEBT = PROBLEM.
This I suspect would be the same mindset that would cry 'the Uk is off to hell in a handcart' in 2009, 1999, 1959 (rockers fighting in Southend - society is collapsing, awful new fangled rock music) and in 1089.
FACT - even in the last recession far less than 1% of home owners were repossessed. So 99% did not get repo'd.
Most of us can cope with a little debt quite happily. Having a puritanical extreme position on most matters is a sign of a a brain that is calibrated to filter out facts to suit a pre - exisiting version of reality. I have in mind a red faced Daily Mail reader that feels the world around them is not as good as the one when they were 18. They fail every time to recognise that when they were 18 a group of 50 year old red necks were saying exactly the same. In 10 million years the puritans and red necks will still be there bleating on about debt = evil and music is'nt the same as when they were a lad.
Bless em.
