There's a poll on HPC ~ Should Iceland vote to repay Icesave debt?
To date: NO 76%. YES 24%
Make of it what you will, bearing in mind they're mostly nutters.
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -
It is just me or does 2.3bn sound like small change these days...?0

Well at year end they had £3mill to INVEST. I believe Westminster had millions more public fund invested abroad
On Demand Savings Accounts?
On demand? by who?
Savings? - Whose?
Accounts? Belonging to Who?
On demand as opposed to fixed.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I applaud the Icelandic people for this decision. It is ludicrous that individuals with no connection with a commercial entity should be asked to stump up for the folly of 'savers' in another country. If you receive a higher interest rate then you take on a higher level of risk.
Didn't the govt (people of) of Iceland GUARANTEE the first 15k or so

But i am fairly sure most of the supporters of iceland would moan if they lost their savings.

Would you be happy to save if 0% of your money was covered?
Did Iceland not try to reinburse the savings of people from Iceland at the expense of UK and NL was that not why the terrorist legislation was invoked and assets frozen
