Hi,
We've just had an offer on a house accepted and need to arrange a mortgage.
A friend recommended a broker to do this:-
http://www.imcfs.co.uk/index.htm
Is this a good idea? Are they reputable?
Or is it best to get a best deal from the internet search enginges direct from the bank/building society?

Chances are that no-one on the board has heard of them as most IFAs are small local firms with 1-5 IFAs in house. Indeed, IFAs are still generally considered to be a cottage industry.
IFAs have the lowest complaint stats of all the distribution channels. So, statistically, you are unlikely to have a problem.Or is it best to get a best deal from the internet search enginges direct from the bank/building society?
If you go on independent basis rather than whole of market, the IFA would include all mortgages that you can get direct as well as through them.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Best to do your own thing unless you're a complex case.0
