Discharged - Credit File Help (not as simple as it sounds!!)

I have been discharged exactly a month and a day and my bankruptcy is not showing on either my Experian or Equifax credit reports, in fact none of my actual outstanding credit accounts are showing at all on the Experian report. I'm guessing that I need to, in theory, have the bankruptcy and the credit accounts on my file so I can start the process of cleaning up my file? How do I go about doing this?

Just a bit of background quickly, I went bankrupt 4/12/08 at my parents address (although I was living with my girlfriend in rented property), was advised not to use new address. Anyway I have since moved back into parents address (a month ago). I'm guessing the changes in address may have caused the bankruptcy to be missing from my credit files?

Could anyone please advise on my next steps? As most of you on here I want to swiftly move on from my bankruptcy and move on in the right way.

Many thanks in advance.

Did you put down all of those addressses when you asked for your file? I would have left it 6-8 weeks before starting the clean up.

    :j :j

  • My current address is on my file as my previous address (as it is my parents address and I used to live here for 15 years before moving out then moving back).

I know you say leave it 6-8 weeks before clean-up but I'm mainly concerned at my bankruptcy not showing up at all on either account and my Experian account showing nothing at all.

Before this continues to fly down the listings, does anyone have any advice? I can't be the only person this has happened to.

When you next request your files, include a copy of your BR order and discharge cert/notice (if you have one) and ask for the files to be updated with the correct info.

You may as well, since the CRA will have the info on record somewhere. It is public record info after all. It's just that due to the address confusion it somehow isn't being matched against your current file.

Coast £60 from the court, unless you qualify for fee exemption.

A letter from the OR confirming your discharge and date should do instead. They will often provide that if you ask.

More important though to make sure the original BR order shows up. Presumably you still have that?

I have a copy of my original notice of Bankruptcy letter.

I will give the official receiver a call or the lady who dealt with my case and see if they can put it into writing for me.

    £60 is a bit steep isn't it.
