I checked the same flight on both sites and the price with discount code '888542555' (£15 DISCOUNT! Offer available until the 17th of January) on XL.com was more expensive than on excelairways.com without discount code. Put the discount code in and it takes the price lower.

On XL.com:

I booked my flights with XL yesterday, 4 adults, and 2 children to Mahon in September from Newcastle and it only cost me £558 and that was with all taxes added, yet on Excel it was well over £700(still cheaper than anywhere else), so it was well worth it for me.  ;D, flights from Newcastle to Mahon are usually so expensive, that I have to drive Manchester and fly from there because it's much cheaper, not this year though 8)

I have tried pricing the flights again with Excel and still get the GRAND total with all taxes and everything added as £723, and I used the promo. code above. :-/. When I booked the flights with XL I couldn't get the website to work properly so I rang them, and they gave me the grand total of £586 so I booked with them. I don't know maybe I am doing something wrong on the Excel site ::)

Don't book insurance with them, you should be able to get a family group insurance for about half the price that they charge.

Have you checked whether Ryan Air fly there? They are usually MUCH cheaper than that, but of course don't fly to all destinations.

Just back from a really nice few days with my kids in Salou, Spain, (London Stanstead to Reus). Got my tickets on a one-day special at £5 each way, no tax! Even with tax, it's not usually more than about £20 each way to a load of destinations if you are able to be fairly flexible about flight times/dates.

Our first experience of flying with Ryan Air was really great. All the staff were really nice, and not plasticky like some airlines can be. And I swear the seats are bigger on those little planes than on a British Airways 747 going transatlantic. More leg room too.

Our travel times were a little weird, but for big savings I wasn't fussed.

Oh yes, and remember you'll have to either buy food and drink on the plane, or take your own sandwiches. And they won't fill your water bottle up for you, as they say the only tap water they have available isn't drinking water, so take plenty with you.

You could try tapping in 'channel4'. It was working about 1 month ago, it was posted on this web site on another board.
