Marks and Spencer returns query

After spending quite a sum at the sale, i realised i had overspent but didnt want to return my goodies, but have been told that in previous years others have been known to return items that were initially purchased on the first fews days of the sale and returned them 2 weeks later to see if they had been further reduced and asked to buy them back at the reduced rate.
Question - has anyone actually succeeded at this. ?

Its company policy not to do buybacks when returning, item has to be reprocessed back onto the shop floor before it can be sold again.Dooyoo £10.40/40, TopCashBack £17.19/30, Valued Opinions 50p/£10, Swagbucks 0/£20, Ebay £15/£250

You'd be better looking for the items on the shop floor- if they have them then buy them at the lower price there and then. Then bring your original more expensive ones back for a refund.
It is annoying though, I bought a top in Debenhams a few months ago and literally the next day it was reduced by another £10. They didn't have another in my size, but I asked the sales staff if they'd refund and sell back and after some huffing and puffing they did. Their argument was, well you were happy to pay £25 yesterday.....which is fair enough. TBH though I wasn't happy at £25 but I was at £15 so it was my fault for being weak willed buying it in the first place!!0
