when sending for credit file

can I pay for two files with one cheque?

I have filled in application forms for both & we have both signed but hubby doesn't have a cheque book so wanted to send two applications in one envelope with one cheque for £4!!

Any ideas?

Oooh good question! And one where I don't really know the answer! Personally I wouldn't have thought it would matter but I'm not sure!

Do you have a debit card? If so you can order it online!
  • I think you have to do 2 cheques as its two different peoiple named for applying for their own credit file.

Saying that it does ring a bell with me now! I'm sure when I applied for mine you have to use your own card!

    I do but H doesn't!!

The only reason I ask is because on-line it says that the card you pay in must be in your own name!

why not phone them and ask as the cheque may be sufficient proof that you are you but that would not apply to your OH ...they may need additional proof of identity from him.

I sent one chq for mine and OH's files but I got a letter back saying he needs to order and pay for his with his own chq. I thought as the chq was from our joint account it would have been ok but obviously not.
    Leason learnt
