As the title suggests you can teach an oldie to change their ways.
OH & I retired last year and although we are okay we had to go back to watching our pennies and not just buying things when we saw them.
With my dd (Getting Better) I joined the sealed pot challenge. My total was £500.00. It paid for my new glasses.
OH grew all our toms, lettuce & runner beans and this year intends to grow more. We had his runner beans as part of our Xmas dinner, I have made pots of tomato soup. And this year he intends to grow even more.
We got an energy monitor (Daily Mail Offer) and we now turn off all the excess lights in the kitchen etc.
As suggested on here somewhere I put £1.00 away a day and this with the petrol vouchers from Morrisons paid for Christmas.
And I bought next years crackers last week at 1/2 price.
I have been making cards for awhile but this year I made myself use my exsisting stock.
I got out my Knitting needles and made my GD and DD an aran. I also knitted 50 stockings for the school.
I started to add soda to my washing powder and cut the amounts by half.
And when I use my dishwasher I only use 1/2 a tablet.
Alot of these things I did when my kids were little but I had got out of the way of "making ends meet". Now I get a real kick out of saving a penny.
Happy New Year to You All.
