Hi all,
Had a diary previously but didnt stick to it as things got bad towards the end of the year-so I'm going to try get our lives sorted. To be honest-I'm sick just thinking of it all-but I know it will only get worse if we dont deal with it, and I've left it long enough..and things are bad now.
Basically, I was made redundant in Aug-after maternity leave finished-was paid 6months wages-but needless to say-it didnt last long. Thankfully, I paid off OH's two credit cards at the time, and OH bits that we owed.
OH was then made redundant in October. He set up as self-employed on Oct 5th and we have had no wages since then. He set up as a Limited company and has two staff- we have managed to pay the rent on the premises, and their wages but have had nothing.
We also have a one year old daughter.
I received Contribution based jobseekers for a few weeks before Christmas but will now be employed by OH's company-as had no luck finding a job-and he needed someone for admin-so I can take dd with me to work and not pay childcare (we dont have anyone who can look after her, and unable to afford childcare)
We are supposed to take 500 each per calendar month as a wage but to be honest-the money just isnt there at the moment.
Our rent is due tomorrow-and I thought there was enough to cover it-but OH's loan has come out a few days early and so the rent wont be paid-and we have no way of making it up.
I am trying to be pro-active with it all-as all our direct debits should be coming out in the next few days-but we wont be able to pay them. (We were due a payment from a customer but they have not made it yet-and hence the reason we are in dire straits)
I have two loans-one for 85.00 per month (which came out successfully today) and the other 227.33 per month (due out tomorrow, which will default as ther are no funds).
After reading Martin's tips-I contacted my bank to advise them-and they are now aware but will not set up a payment plan as I need to go to the CAB first. I made a minimal payment of £5.00, but he advised I will now start receiving calls and letters.
He also cancelled all the Direct debits on my accounts so that I dont get charges for unpaid items and I will need to make payments manually.
I only had about 8 months left to make payments on the loans-after having them for 5years. Bit upsetting-as he said it would now be on my credit file for 7years and affecting my credit rating.
OH called BT today and dropped line rental and BB to the basic at £13.00 a month.
I called the local council benefit to see if there is anything we are entitled to but they cannot see me until the 20th-and the application would then take a few weeks to process.
In the meantime-we should have enough food to last us for a few weeks-basic diet but we have no choice.
I have enough nappies for a few weeks so dd should be ok.
Well thats it for now-just wanted to keep try keep track of it all-and see if offloading makes me feel any better.
Take care
Sammie

Hi Sammie, long time no see. I was only thinking about you the other day. Can't believe your DD is 1!
Have you got any family or friends who can help? Are you doing the scratchiee? Ebay, music magpie etc to sell stuff (you probably know all this). Can you chase up the outstanding invoice?
