Maybe we'll need to have a look at the guest list, or re-jig the format of the wedding. We are both only inviting close family i.e. Mum, Dad, Granny, Bros, Sisters, Neices and Nephews and we have 30 odd between us of them. Plus then there is the bridesmaids and we're having 4 best men. Maybe we need to be ubber strict about the friends we invite.

Although annoyingly daughter may have a point! I am not inviting anyone but immediate family and a few very close friends, making it 30 for the wedding and meal, however all extended family invited to the evening!

Remember, you can always go crazy and invite the world and his wife to the evening do and it's much cheaper to cater for the buffet - about £10 a head.

I agree with those who said do a buffet - having been on the other side of the fence as it were (ie worked behind the bar at weddings, where we got to see the details of the set up for the tables on the same sheet that had all the prices etc) I can tell you that the amount of difference between a fork buffet and a sit down dinner is quite a hefty chunk.

Also have the wedding late on in the day, at about three o'clock or so. Then by the time you've had the ceremony, taken photos, got to the hotel etc (and perhaps had speeches before the food which will push food time back even further), it'll probably be about six or seven o'clock anyway, so you only have to feed everyone once.
