Go for it. We use whatever we have in here.As long as they are a nice floury potato you will be fine. Should be no difference at all.

Red as in sweet potato or red as in maris piper or desiree ?
Either way they would be fine but sweet potatoes cook quicker!

  • I'm going to be a pain now and change my January target to £350 as I don't think my initial figure will be realistic for us (2 adults, 2 kids, 1 dog, 1 cat!). Don't want to fail in the first month and feel bad! if we stick to this it will still be a great improvement and I will feel much more in control. Keeping a note of every single expenditure and planning meals is a good feeling!
Been shopping today, lots of BOGOFs saving me a total of £3.74. Spent £95.05 . My main aim is to plan, write a list and do one big shop rather than popping down to the Mr Ts at the end of the road every other day and picking up lots of things I don't need just because I have run out of bread or milk.
I have just got through a sack of red potatoes and made some very nice loaded twice-baked potato halves (I think I mashed the flesh roughly with olive oil, garlic and red onion, before baking again.)
Love and compassion to all x

Hi Thriftlady :) I think the OP's question was meant more along the lines of are they as good, rather than simply "can I bake them".QUOTE]
