We are searching for both males and females aged between 18 and 60 to take part in our new quit smoking program. If you are between the age of 18 and 60 and would like to stop the habit then read on to find out how you can take part.
As long as you adhere to the guidelines properly and send the required information back every week, you will be paid £100 per week for taking part.
You will be required to email us every week with certain details including:
- Amount of cigarettes smoked in the week (to monitor cut down rates)
- Whether cravings have been surpressed
Everything needed for to take part in the program will be delivered to you upon successful acceptance in to the program. Spots are limited so depending on how soon you reply and whether or not we have exceeded our quota for your age group, will determine whether you are accepted to take part in the program.
If you really want to stop smoking and fit the criteria then get back to us via email for more details and we can take it from there.
In your reply email, ensure to include your age and currently how many cigarettes you smoke daily.
We look forward to hearing from you.
The HFC Survey Team.

Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. So I replied to the add.

The reply I got said that they had the required number of people and do not need any more.

It then went on to say it was for testing a new stop smoking product from the US. And that I can still get a free sample of the product if I follow the link in the email.

The link provided was a !!!!!!! link, which disguises what looks like an affiliate link.

I suspect, but have no proof, that there never was an offer of earning £100 per week. The add was/is just there to get your email, so they can send you the affiliate link. And when you enter your details for the free sample they earn commission.

So, now we know there is no offer, lets see if they continue placing the adds.

Forgot to mention, the "Free Sample" costs £3.95.

    That's for the postage.

Yeah I got the same apparently that have reached maximum capacity and directed me to a website with a "free" sample that costs £3.00 mmmm. The whole thing is a con to get you to pay for their free sample.

Note- they are also doing this for teeth whiteing and some diet aid on various gumtree's

Some NHS Trusts have offered money for stopping smoking. Read half way down the page:

Ask your surgery if your area is covered.

  • This is a scam and may be linked to others on Gumtree that require you to use a premium phone line with out warning you first, anything on Gumtree that seems to be to good to be true is guess what.......you know it...Gumtree s great when used correctly but they have no moderator unlike Freecycle and others who do:mad:

    Read post 5.

There are no phone numbers involved. The add is just there to direct you to a web site where you can get a "free" sample, which costs £3.95 for the postage.
  • This is identical to a tooth whitening programme which is a scam, after you log your details for the postage fee, it charges your account over 70 times and then takes out several hundred pounds due to something in the small print. it has been all over google :) hth
