Party Dish needed

DD has invited family and friends over to celebrate her birthday - but sadly the chief cook and bottlewasher (me) is feeling bit inspirationless in terms of what to cook. I would prefer a couple of hot dishes - one vegetarian option. Catering for 14 for Saturday night and would like to prepare in advance or early in the day.
Drinks ideas also welcome!

how about doing a few types of curry, serving with puppodoms, naan bread, dips etc
or go italian, do a lasagne, a pasta bake and you could do some bruschettas, olives, antipasti, focaccia, garlic bread and a big salad
or have a sauage and mash night, get a few different types of sausages (including veggie), big pots of mash (plain, cheesy, roast onion, etc) loads of good tasty gravy and bobs your uncle!0 -
I would go for the curry and rice option.
A mild curry like a chicken korma and a spicier curry like a beef madras or chicken tikka masala. Then a veg curry as well.
Bowls of basmati rice, naan bread and sambals, raita, coconut, chutney and sliced banana.
Go for a mango sorbet or a coconut icecream for a cooling dessert.Felines are my favourite
