does anyone know where i can get a cheap teasmaid or something similar from? except ebay

    I haven't looked for this particular item myself, but the Argos sale has some good reductions. Tried there?
  • Not particularly cheap..but lakeland do a very traditional teasmade with clock. Also John Lewis but again not cheap!

    You could wait until the weekend and try your local car boot sale - I seem to see them, apparently virtually unused, every time I go. You might be able to pick one up for less than £5 or so.

    Managed to get on the Lakeland site and found the tea maker which is only £14.95 8)

    They call it a coffee maker , but do say it's for making tea also
