Does anyone know the situation in the following circumstances.
My partner wants to borrow some money against the equity in the home, or increase the mortgage. I have a dreadful credit record but hers is spotless. The mortgage and property are in her name but I live in the house. Is my credit record likely to prevent her from having her application accepted or are we treated separately?

It depends if you are financially associated or not. have you applied for credit in the past in joint names? do you have a joint bank account or loan?I am a Mortgage Adviser
