Cheap source for replacement toner cartridges

Yes, I know this type of question has been posed on innumerable occassions in the past but I'm asking again in realtion to one of our printers.
We bought a Samsung ML-1610 (mono laser) a few months ago with, obviously, the "starter" toner cartridge. The toner has now run out and, again as usual, the cost of a replacement is more then the printer itself.
Anyone have any experience/recommendations for a good/reliable place to buy the cartridge for this printer at a cheaper cost?
Many thanks for all suggestions.

There's this: http://www.refilltoner.com/ or some toners at http://www.redstore.com/SAMPRI129
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
Thansk ABH. I have U Refill Toner Ltd. on my radar but didn't know about the other one. I'll check them out.
Have you actually used either of them yourself and found them to be good?0 -

Thanks Lee but they don't seem to have anything for my ML1610. This is part of the problem. Finding somewhere that has the cartridge is just as much an issue as finding a cheap one!!0

Hi PCHM
I have a Samsung laser printer, and was horrified at the cost of replacement toners cartridges. But I had a cunning plan..... I bought a bottle of replacement toner from ebay for a tenner and refilled the cartridge. I followed the instructions and did it out side as the toner is a very fine powder. That was last summer and it is still going strong despite a huge amount of printing for my assignments on my degree course.
If you cannot find them on ebay I will try and find the details....
I hope this helps.

I had same problem with my Samsung ML1710, but got very good value toner refills from https://www.topinks.co.uk last year. I've looked at their website today and they have toner refills for your ML1610 in 110g bottles at £7.25 each or 3 for £14.50.
Toner comes in bottles with filler spout and instructions, you lever off plug on your existing cartridge and pour in toner - one bottle fills cartridge - then replace plug. Mine says on label it is genuine Samsung toner, but I feel it is slightly fainter, however at this price I use it without switching on the toner save button on the printer.
My 3 bottles have lasted more than a year, with no problems.
(Sorry I can't put a direct link into this reply, but I haven't mastered doing this yet)0 -
Thanks again.
One thing on replacement toner ... unfortunately it seems the ML1610 doesn't have the usual "plug" at the end of the cartridge so refilling isn't as easy!
Unless anyone knows any different ........0 -

Topinks website shows it also has a refilling service for the ML1610. You post your empty cartridge to them and they refill it and post back. Costs £15 plus VAT which includes the cost of return postage but you have to pay postage on sending empty cartridge to them.0

Thanks for the clarification, Silverlady. I'll check it out.0
