Jo Malone - Lime, Basil & Mandarin Fragrance

Options
I love the lime, basil & mandarin fragrance by Jo Malone but it's so pricey. Can anyone recommend a similar (cheaper) fragrance please?

I searched the forum and saw someone recommend Elle Macpherson 'The Body' sensual skin bath but thats a body lotion and I really would like a cologne or perfume.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I sell Jamie Oliver stuff and his perfume line was created by/with Bella Crane who does Bella Bellissima so it's good quality and the green fragrance is Lime and Cedar and is lovely. If you have a rep locally ask for a sniff!

Hi Londoner & Vicki - didnt think of looking on e-bay (had a quick peek and doesn't seem to be any of what I want on there at the moment but when my precious bottle if running low I'll try again). And I didn't even know about Jamie Oliver's fragrances but will check that out.

    Thanks for your suggestions :-)

  • Try M&S Lime Flower and Bergamot. I just bought my mum some and she loves it!

Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Harrods or Jo Malone shops - there are quite a few round the country - check the website.

I agree, that perfume is absolutely gorgeous. The Elle Macpherson range does smell similar, no perfume though apart from a small lip balm style pot but the scent isn't strong enough.

  • I love The Jo Malone range, but have to say, it is somewhat overpriced!

Their colognes are expensive, compared to what you can buy, but my favorite is The Pomegranite Noir, absolutely gorgeous.

Not keen on The Lime, Basil and Manderin, as not strong enough for me, Their Black Vetiver Cafe is also nice, as is their Nutmeg and Ginger Cologne.

Lovely to receive as a gift, or voucher to be able to then chose your gift, but have now stopped buying from there, as firstly got too addictive, then too expensive and I realized I could get other items of high quality for less.

Having said that, I now feel that after my comments, a bottle of Pomegranite Noir may well be in order, lol. :rotfl:
  • Tescos do a Lime and Mandarin EDT in their "finest" range - £5.37 for 50ml. I don't know what it smells like, just saw it whilst in Tescos the other day. But there again I don't know what the Jo Malone one is like either lol.

As does this and what a great price - thanks nicky, I will go and have a sniff when I'm next in Tesco. The Jo Malone one smells strongly of lime (which I guess it would :rotfl:) but at £60 for a not huge bottle  it's now out of my price range and also now don't have OH to buy it for me (the cad ), but is is sooooo gorgeous.....sigh
