Gas Boiler repair

Options
I have a Gloworm gas boiler and it has started to make funny noises over the last few days and is now not even firing up.

The previous plumber I used has now stopped plumbing due to the lack of work and am stuck to find someone else.

Is it worthwhile to use Phoenix Gas direct (and how good is their boiler insurance cover as was contemplating this also) or can anyone out there recommend someone good reliable and most importantly easy to pay? (I am currently unemployed and money is tight)

I also read on a post below about phoenix gas and a poster said it costs them £30pm to heat a 3bed semi with gas cooker. I am currently paying £60pm so think the boiler may be the issue as our gas has always been dearer than I think it should be.

ALL help and recommendations are greatly welcome and appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
