    Hi There

We are two adults and a hungry cat! I have been a member of the grocerty challenge for 6 months now. At the start - we were spending £200 + per month on food for our household. As you see from my sig - i am currently struggling to stay at £170 per month.

We shop ethically and its been a challenge to eat healthy and keep our carbon footprint low.

I hope to get to £150 someday soon - but getting the monthly spend down is slow work.

I spend about £75 per week for all the food for four of us, including packed lunches/school dinners/the odd takeaway, but not including cleaning materials, toiletries and catfood. I'm at home all day. I could get it down a lot lower if I had to but it's not necessary atm, so I'm being lazy. Once every so often I have a week of eating out the frezer/storecupboards to clear out the place. I think there may be one of these weeks coming up soon.

i spend £90-£100 per week, there is me and hubby a four year old 2 year old and 6month old. so 2 in nappies an baby has formula milk and refuses the baby food i made so has jars

we also have 2 cats a ginuea pig and some fish.

i am going to potty train 2 year old soon and use washable nappies some of the time for baby and one he will eat lumps and finger foods that should help as i wont be buying as many nappies and jars.

i gues im starting higher than i caould too incase income drops and i need to go lower, we worked out that i used to spend over £200 a week at one point and i was really shocked, i only go shopping now once a week then for milk bread as i need it, works out much better

Hi - We do buy branded foods.

This week for breakfasts somedays we will have crumpets other days muffins. For lunches it will be either burgers, jackets or sandwiches and teas will be hotpot, braising steak, sausage casserole, roast, chicken chasseur.

These are the sort of meals we have we eat meat every day. :)

    Here is my list

    2Training treatstick.gif £3.34 2Washing up liqtick.gif £1.00 1Disp razorstick.gif £0.25 1Thermometertick.gif £5.00 1Freerange eggstick.gif £1.46 1Buttery spreadtick.gif £1.45 1Dumpling mixtick.gif £0.42 1Whole chickentick.gif £3.98 1Heritage Potatotick.gif £1.28 1Baking potstick.gif £0.74 1.0
    kgCarrots loosetick.gif £0.72 2Oxo cubestick.gif £2.00 1Cathedral Citytick.gif £5.98 1SP JAM/STRAWBERtick.gif £0.38 1GFY Croissantstick.gif £0.87 1Crumpetstick.gif £0.74 3Back bacontick.gif £5.00 1White bapstick.gif £1.46 1Fresh for weektick.gif £0.75 4Richmond saustick.gif £4.00 2Braising steaktick.gif £6.00 3Diet coketick.gif £4.00 1Baker's chickentick.gif £5.97 1Semi skim milktick.gif £2.25 1Beefburgerstick.gif £1.27 1Chicken burgerstick.gif £1.36

As has been said that is a lot of meat, I would estimate about 18 meals worth conservatively for 2 . Cathedral City is frequently on offer, so I stock up then, the same with Coke you will often find 3 for £3 or £3.50 at various supermarkets. I would make my dogs training treats and you can pick up Gusto or Autarky working dog food at a fraction of the price of Bakers. We spend about £80 to £90 for 4 and lots of pets (not all their food as I tend to buy Gusto and Royal Canin in bulk).

We both like to have meat so dont think I can cut that out as we enjoy it.

I am very lucky in that I dont need to reduce the spend. I would just like to as I seem to spend a lot on shopping..from my list above I bought more sausages than I need as they were on offer so some will go in the freezer, the potaotes will last more than one week, also washing up liquid, jam and cheese (double pack as on special offer) will last more than a week. :)
