Hi Little Miss Naughty,
I put the meat in an oven proof dish, add some sliced onions, carrots and sometimes other root veg, a stock cube or two made up with enough liquid to cover the veg and season well with black pepper. Sometimes I also add a glug of red wine and/or worcester sauce. (There are no hard and fast rules....sometimes I add mustard powder to give it a bit of a kick, sometimes I've added tinned tomatoes and green peppers for a change).
Cover and cook in the oven at 170 degrees for about three hours. The juices should reduce and thicken but if you want to thicken them more mix a little cornflour in cold water and stir into your gravy.
If you want to cook it in the slow cooker it's much the same but you will definitely need to thicken the gravy and it will take six or seven hours cooking on medium.
There are more ideas on these earlier threads that may help:
