Tea stain in carpet

OH decided that (whilst I was out ) he would spill his cup of tea onto our beige(ish) carpet. It has now dried........

Can anyone tell me how I can get the stain out? Please?

I'd try a solution of Stardrops in warm water. If that doesn't work my MIL swears by Lidl carpet cleaner, she says it's brilliant.

Me and my mum always use neat washing up liquid. Seems to do the trick. Just rub in with a damp cloth. ;)

Has anyone got any ideas on how I can remove an old stain from carpet. i can't remember if it was tea or coffee that my lovely friend spilt. I've tried all the usual carpet cleaners....vanish carpet cleaner, 1001 foam and I have also tried fairy liquid and scrubbing.

I live in rented house and the carpet isn't that thick. It blue in colour. In the sunlight I have just noticed how bad the stain looks....dark brown.

Failing any suggestions working has anyone had experience of using a professional cleaning company? Roughly how much can I expect to pay for a small room and does all the furniture need to be taken out?

I dissolve a heaped tablespoon of soda crystals in a mug of warm water, pour it over the stain, leave for about 20 mins then put an old towel over it and stand on it (don't scrub, it'll actually work dirt into the carpet). If the stain hasn't completely gone, do it again.

I've found another thread on removing tea stains, with different suggestions.

I'll add your question to that one to keep suggestions together.
