  • hi

my car went bang the tuesday before xmas, headgaskett, running on 2 cylinders and a load of other things i was so upset that yet anothe rthing had gone wrong for me

luckily my mum helped out and we went car shopping, it was a struggle to find a cheap car but she ended up buying a fiat punto for £700 its a brill car and thanks to my mum i dont have to get the bikes out.

there are cheap cars out there you just need to look the bloke mum got the car fromsaid cheap cars are hard to get at the moment because of the scrappage scheme.

    good luck

dont listen to the advise on no cheap cars!! Dealers are mega desperate to sell and the scrapage scheme has hardly had a impact. how many people driving around in £500 bangers can afford a new car in the scheme? not many

i can understand what you are saying but here we looked all day and found 3 cars that were cheap enough

a p reg astra which was a plie of
    a n reg megane okish
and the t reg punto which we bought. the punto came in the day before and the bloke said once it was checked over it was going in the paper at £1195 but as i was desperate he would sell it to us as spares or repairs as he hadnt looked at it. i do belive him as the car was in the admag on xmas eve at that price obviously to late to cancel ad.

there are loads of brand new cars around here the fiat one mainly so people are doing the scrappage scheme maybe not so many where you live.

Finding the money to save even £500 for a cheap car is proving a struggle right now for us so I'm with you totally OP. It is going to be a very long time before I can get a car to use :(

I agree it is very hard to find a good second hand car for under £500.

You can take finance as has been said but you must declare that you are BR and the intrest rate will reflect this.

My wife has just bought a little daewoo matiz, one owner, six months tax and test on w reg for £380. we had to haggle. Its not the best looking car and has a few scratches but serves its purpose. cheap to insute, tax and run. My thoughts shop around there are some bargains but be very carefull.

    Good Luck
