Confused about church vs registrar...

Ok, so we've decided that we're getting married in a church. The CofE site says that the £313 fee includes "all legal necessities", and the breakdown of the costs is thus:
MARRIAGES
Publication of banns of marriage
Certificate of banns issued at time of publication
Marriage Service (Marriage certificate – See Note 6)
However, does this still mean that we have to give notice to the registrar, is that a completely separate fee as well?
Would be very grateful to anyone that can help.

i asked my vicar this.....no. The church sorts it all out basically! But ask your vicar just to be sure but i am 99.9% that you do not need to even speak to a registry office etc

Basically cos you are getting married in the church NOT the registry office so they have got nothing to do with it really for you.....i think the church sends the info off or something?Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?0 -

Fair enough, I just remembered reading somewhere on here that it cost someone absolutely loads to get the registrar come out to them and sort out the certificates or whatever, much more than the CofE site says the entire thing costs! If that's not the case, that's a great weight off my mind.
Will be going to talk to the vicar on Monday, been trying to ring them but it keeps going to answerphone, grr!0 -

In a church the 'Banns' are the same as giving 'notice' to registrary office. The signing you done in Church is the same and the signing you do with a registrar in a venue. So the upshot is that all the stuff us using a 'venue' instead of a church you are saved from doing as church does everything instead!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0
