Hi everyone, just a query a friend of the family has been working since Dec 8th as a temp over the xmas period.
The problem is that she has worked 3wks+ and has been paid for 1 day so far....
As it stands the company claims they are paid monthly from the 8th to the following 8th, she enquired today as regards her wage and was told that she will get paid on the 21st....
Her contract actually runs out on this tuesday, January 5th ....and she has been asked to sign a P45 already.....
What are her options here, as i suspect they may have issues paying although i hope to be wrong.......
Ps she is 17yr old.
Any advice urgently required, thanks in advance...

I'm confused that she's been asked to sign a P45, wasn't aware there was a space on it that the employee needed to sign on leaving.
However, if the company calculates pay for the period from the 8th to the 8th each month, but makes the actual payment on 21st, then that sounds about right. When did she get that day's pay?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Okey dokey Sue, to be fair i'm only going on what i've been told as regards P45, she was paid for the day about the 19th December or so....thanks for the reply.0

So what they have said appears spot on.
They arent going to change their entire payroll procedures to suit one employee.0 -
Thanks folks, much appreciated.0

Big drama about absolutely nothing.0

It may seem like a "drama for absolutely nothing" to you but to someone who is waiting for money and is inexperienced in things like this it can be a big deal.
How about being nice???:A

As Nikki said, it may seems like much ado over nothing, and i hope it turns out to be so....but it doesn't hurt to ask.0
