Quick Tesco question

I have just started my first online shop and now want to leave it until tomorrow to finsh but i can't find a save button. Does it just save it for me?
I also I have heard of people booking a delivery slot in advance-how do I do this? Do I just check out and then before the day go back and edit my order to add more food?
Hopefully someone can help-the website isn't very clear!
It is however already saving me from buying all the impulse buys-which is great.

Yes - you have to check out in order to save your list so far. You can easily go back and add or change things. Sometimes I book a delivery and quickly put about 4 things on, then check out to make sure I've go that delivery slot booked and go back online later when I have time to do the whole list properly.
WARNING - Just make sure you put on any money-off codes the first time you check out as you can't put them on afterwards.

Money off codes? That sounds interesting! Where do you get these codes from and is it just for specfic items?0 -
If it's your first ever online shop with Tesco, they offer you £10 off but I don't know where to get the code except on the leaflet in the shop...which rather defeats the point of going online in the short term.
You could phone your local store and ask them - I bet they'd read you the code on the phone.
If you have a clubcard, they send you out various codes for money off or extra points by post.
Also you can get codes from Tesco via email once you are an online customer - especially if you don't order online for a while! They start sending codes to you to tempt you back.
Finally, you can sometimes find codes online including on MSE forums.

Good luck!

Not saving the basket without checking out frustrated me too, so I've started using My Supermarket to prepare my shopping list. It automatically saves my basket without having to check out, so I can add to it through the week as I notice we're running low on something. It has also saved me a ton of money because it does very good price comparisons and flags up when I can get something cheaper.

You can then check out through Tesco, or print a list to take in store. I usually do the latter unless it's my bulk shop week. They do other supermarkets as well, but I only have Tesco locally so that's all I've looked at. Link is http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk0 -

£10 off online shop for genuine first Tesco online shop through Quidco (although if you are joining quidco, half of that will go as your membership fee £5!
Worth it though imo!0 -
It does save your selected items even if you haven't checked out0

If you joing Top Cashback, there is no registration fee and you can claim the £10 on your first order there. It does take a few weeks before you can get your hands on the cash though!0

I use Tesco online to do 'virtual shops' quite often ie I never actually buy the goods in my basket just see how much it will cost me in the store. I never go through checkout, I simply add stuff to my basket. Each time I go back to my account my goods are still there. So you shouldn't need to do anything other than exit the site. The same thing happens with Ocado.0
