we went to chester at the beginning of december and found the park and ride excellent! there are several car parks that y9u can leave your car at, just remember which one you are parked on!
it was £1.50 (i think) each on the bus. Really good value and no limit to how long you can stay.

Whenever we go to Chester, we park near to the sports centre.0

When we go we normally park at Pepper Street NCP - (no. 19 on this map) http://www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/transport_and_roads/parking/car_parks/idoc.ashx?docid=8c1460a4-f416-444d-9b90-48ac9fc3b0a1&version=-1
We find it's the easiest to get to and close to the shopping part. It's the one closest one to the Roman Ampitheatre.

If you go after 3pm anyday, parking is now free in chester council run car parks.NCP ones still charge.
Best car park is princess st, next to bus station, open til 11.30pm and one of the free after 3 car parks.:happyhear0 -
Beware the NCP car parks... the charges are extortionate, and the car parking spaces are the narrowest I have ever seen.
It sounds ridiculous to comment on that, but many cars overhang into a second space, so the car park entrance shows spaces available when actually it's full; and if cars do fit into a single space you are then so close together that you are very much at risk of getting your car 'dinked' by another car's doors opening into it.0
