There was a whole Guardian supplement in Labour's early days in power, entitled Gordon Brown Sex god, in which numerous intelligent, articulate and famous women queued up to say how much they fancied the pants off the guy. I remember Julie Burchill was one.

I expect he'd just have turned a blind eye..........

PS Just tuned into this thread.

Can anyone explain to me how the hell you make towels out of bamboo? Isn't it just like...really scratchy?

    What's wrong with cotton?

Why go to all the effort of turning a stick into a towel?

Bamboo fibres are soft, much softer and can feel a bit like silk.

As a long-term Guardian reader, you should know that bamboo is one of the world's fastest growing grass, doesn't need much care and is very versatile. It will save the world.

Cotton growing is not very green as it requires a lot of plants to be grown and has all the things associated with intensive production.

That doesn't sound, to my uneducated mind, very absorbent?

It isn't important. It is just me people watching.

You asked if I was comfortably off. I will definately delete this.

I have an extremely boring job that pays peanuts.

    I write science fiction.

It doesn't pay that well, I am not that good at it. It allows me a certain freedom. It paid of my mortgage and it puts jam on my bread.

It is not something you can be even vaguely proud of
You think about it too much .

You can be proud that you left, you may have made decisions prior to that which in hindsight you are not happy with, but its not shameful on your part :A
