It might have been, just googled it and it came out in 2000 :o Even my Mum liked it when it was on though, haha!

Parabens are chemicals used in beauty products as a preservative (I think) Some can be natural (Again, I think!) but the ones made synthetically have been linked to breast cancer or skin problems. They actually sound pretty scary when you read up on them. Like my Lush toner has Methylparaben in it, which isn't all that great to use on your face as it been linked to skin aging. I'd like to switch to paraben free stuff, but it's remembering when I buy new stuff that stops me! :o

I don't remember Weekenders Cinny, but then I am as aged as Tete too LOL

The true test is if you watched Heartbreak High :D

Parabens sound a bit scary - you learn something new everyday. Will look into it Zig.

I know Naked don't use parabens, and you can get that in Boots. I think I'll look for paraben free goodness when I've used my stuff up, if I *ahem* remember :D

Heartbreak High was way before me I think!! I think I'm more of a 00's kid, I just remember the kid shows from the 90s, like Lampchops Play Along and Rockos Modern Life. Or Are you Afraid of the Dark and Two of a Kind from the later 90s. :o

Lulu - Me and my Sister still sing the USA High theme tune haha. I think I was raised by the TV!

Out of interest, do any of you make an effort to buy toiletries that are paraben-free?

Like Tete - what's a Paraben? I buy ones that aren't tested on animals (although sometimes I just assume they are nowadays and don't even remember to look ), but past that it's just Clinique for the skincare, Dior and MAC for makeup, Lush for treats and Aussie or Pantene for shampoo and conditioner.

ETA: Thanks for explaining Cinny, I feel the need to go read all my bottles now!

More money has arrived and been moved into the wedding savings pot, and sold another book on Amazon overnight and we have a little in paypal. Getting very close to payout again on onepoll, and of course dooyoo, as well as several survey sites although most of those are vouchers. Haven't had any mystery shops in god knows how long. Actually haven't had an alert in a long time - wonder if there is a new thread. Going to list all my original paintings on etsy this afternoon and do a blog post on each blog, write a couple of reviews for dooyoo (hopefully better than yesterdays!), read all your new reviews (and comment, to show dooyoo I do read them I just read fast!), find out when our prospective wedding bands are playing, and wrap the parcels NIM needs to send tomorrow. Phew, busy day for me!

I don't know any of the shows you listed Cinny! I loved Heartbreak High though, her off Home and Away used to be in it didn't she, the Greek one who was married to Vinnie? Gosh remember when there used to be a different programme on C4 every night instead of just Hollyoaks all the time? It was great - Fresh Prince on a Tuesday, Blossom on a Friday ... I can't remember the other days though!

Parabens do sound a bit scary but at the same time those are the things I take with a pinch of salt - everything's linked to cancer these days. I have to recommend Naked though - I have their shapoo and it's gorgeous, might give their other products a go (when they're on offer!)

ETA - Dinah I'm the same re. animal testing, I never check! Need to get my finger out with that! Look forward to having a peek at the blogs later :)

I wouldn't worry too much over them, tbf everything is linked to cancer and if I start worrying about parabens I'll start worryingly about all the things! I think you only really need to worry about them if you're allergic to them. I could be wrong though!

Sounds like a super busy day Dinah! Great that everything is nearing payout too - I really need to do onepoll again as I'm sure I got to the half way mark!

Lulu - Lampchops Playalong was AMAZING! She was a little Jewish lamb and they sang 'The song that never ends' and there was Hush Puppy and Charlie Horse! *gets carried away*
