Does anyone else find woollen items of clothing so itchy? I have a couple of lovely cardigans/jumpers but after 10mins i have to take them off, i do try to wear something cotton underneath, today i have a 3/4 sleeve top on with a waterfall cardigan, so just a little bit of my arms are in contact with the wool and its itching like mad. Is there something i can wash it in to soften it, as the usual softner isn't working.

It depends what sort of wool is in it as to whether or not it itches (of course you could react to something but assuming you're not) it tends to be the more 'exotic' wools that itch like alpaca, mohair etc. look at the labels and see which do and don't.
I am wearing a short sleeve vintage wool jumper at the moment and if I read the label correctly (it is very faded) it is 100% lambswool and doesn't seem to itch at all and is very soft naturally. I do have another jumper from Topshop with a fraction of mohair in it (just a gold thread flecked through) and that is quite itchy I have to wear a long sleeved top underneath so it doesn't touch my skin.0 -

The cardigan I'm wearing right now is 100% lambswool and it's not at all itchy. I have a mohair jumper that drives me crazy so have to wear a long sleeved tee under that. I guess it does depend on the type of wool your clothes are made from. I can't think of a solution other than wearing something underneath though - sorry!0
