Im pretty sure "ManyCam" is dodgy so id really recommend uninstalling it
Im also thinking you probably have some malware on the computer. Ive asked 2 times now for you to run MALWAREBYTES. This is the last time im going to recommend it........:idea:0 -
Nothing particulaly shocking there but I think you could do with uninstalling (not with HiJack This) via Add/Remove your Avast. It was once a pretty good program but Microsoft have an excellent app which works very well and it's free MSE www.microsoft.com/security_essentials
Did you used to have Norton too? Anyway, if that were my machine I'd definitely kill:

Your problem with the file you're trying to remove is in there in bold. You'd be better to kill those and then restart and then go to Add/Remove and remove them manually then get the latest driver. Acer's stuff hangs around like a bad smell for years.
:money: If you decide to add a new antivirus (only 1 per machine!) download the file first. Remove the old one via Add/Remove, restart and then install. Make sure you are off the Internet when you do this. Just unplug your router or whatever.
Once that Microsoft is install restart, turn your Internet back on, update MSE, run CCleaner and then do a full system scan with MSE.
I wonder if MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) has permission to use Martin's abbrevation?0 -
Many thanks indeed. Brilliant advice0

I've done absolutely everything you've asked me to do from the above. The only problem is that I still have the Realtek AC'97 5,823 MB in my Add or Remove Programmes list that still looks far too big. I clicked on it for support information which says the Publisher is Semiconductor Corp. Version 5.9 and the Registered Company is Acer (which is my desktop). I've also noticed that the amount has now risen to 7,200.00MB which I really can't understand why this has happened. I've tried to remove it by clicking on the remove button but it won't remove. It just says "Setup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost".
Any advice on what to do?????0 -
It's probably just a typo from whoever created the driver package. Have you completely uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the latest version?0
-
If Revo (choose Advanced) doesn't uninstall it -post again- your HJT file and a screengrab of the Add/Remove showing the MB size. Screengrab: press print screen (PrtScr) on the keyboard and paste it into paint and upload it to www.imageshack.us -remove anything private of course.
If the program is broke you should be able to over install the same version but you may need to stop it from running first (this may be why it won't unistall too as we've said).
You can see what's running quickly by pressing CTRL/SHIFT/ESC. Acer in there still?
And make sure you're reading and re-reading what everyone's said0 -
I really would like to endorse Alieneriks advice about cleaning out possible malware.
Also, remember that if you took this machine to a repairer they would charge money for this help and the work suggested so be careful not to dismiss ANY of it.
A good spring clean could work miracles.
Best of luck with it.Do you have a leesonce for yer minkey?0 -
I used Revo and it worked!!! It deleted all of the Realtek AC'97. Fantastic!!!
Thank you everyone all so very much for all your excellent professional advice. I am very very grateful. I would never have been able to do this without your continued help throughout. I'm gobsmacked with the total dedication and knowledge you guys have.0
