Hi I have some pickled pork that I am going to cook and am not really sure what goes with it. I am thinking mashed spud, steamed veg and some HM apple sauce. Does anyone have any different suggestions on what to serve with the pickled pork?

i have never heard of it either, just looked it up and there are a few different types. but one recommends serving it with pease pudding which seems reasonable..0

Thanks for your replies, it was the first time Id ever cooked/tried it and it was very nice. Sort of like a corned silverside version of pork. The mashed potato and steamed veg/apple sauce went well and I would recommend a little hot english mustard also on the side as it lifts the sauce and is yummy. Strangely enough I kept thinking chilli in the apple sauce would have been very good or a chilli salsa or something.Thailand 3010/15000 20150

I think pickled pork might be a London dish. My ex DH used to love it. We had to order it from the butcher several weeks before Christmas. I think the butcher may have pickled it in brine. (Memories going). And yes I served it with pease pudding. No idea what it tastes like as I'm vegie.0
