Split cable TV signal

Options
Hi

Just wondering does anyone know how to split the cable TV signal so you can get all channels in all rooms in the house without having to buy extra set top boxes. I'm looking to do it the way it's done in hotel bedrooms.

Thanks in advance

you can get video senders that transmit whatever channel is being received via the main box(in one of the other forums there are some coming up at Aldi this week for £30 on their weekly offers). It would be physcially impossible to receive all channels on all TV's without extra boxes though as they are what decodes the signal.

    hi woby

just thought id add to this - make sure that the video senders ( if thats the way you choose to go) are compatible with cable tv.

I have bought three sets and had to take all of them back because although they work with sky no problem - they dont work fully on cable.

You will be able to send the picture to other tv's but you wont be able to change channels from the other room - due to cable using different frequency than sky.

If you manage to find one that is suitable id really appreciate your feedback.

    cheers j.x

I bought the Medion ones from Toys R Us a while back, I appreciate about the changing channels things, ours did say in the box that it wouldn't work on NTL/telewest but generally we only use them when we're watching a certain channel so up to now it hasn't affected us. If thats the functionality yyou want though I agree that there are hardly any(if at all) that do allow the remote to work

    Hi,

you can get ntl splitter from places like Maplins and of course Ebay. You will also need cable and type f connectors (I think).

    Hope that helps.
