This is what I have done:

Poke potatoes with fork and wrap each in foil. Fill dry slowcooker with the wrapped potatoes. Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours, until potatoes are tender.

Doesn't adding water keep the skins from going a bit crispy?

yeah.. they weren't that crispy, but I didn't want to run the risk of cracknig the cermamic pot (as some had mentioned in other threads).

Is there any reason why you want to cook them in a slow cooker? I always cook mine in a microwave oven, just poke them with a fork and put in the microwave for an average of 20 minutes. OH always says my jacket potatoes taste so good and I believe him
  • 20 mins  Is that for more than one then or is my microwave up the shoot and I need a new one?! :rotfl:

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll try that next time and hopefully have more sucess :D My pots have a tendancy to either be over-cooked or cooked in the main but have a few bits uncooked no matter how hard I try :o
