Have you tried to see if there are any grants avaialble in your local area? Try searching on the buinsess link website.

Sounds like a well balanced and well thought out argument to me.
Wonder where Sir Alan Sugar would be today if he had been told that about his market stall?A banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.0 -

Yeah, i have looked on that, there doesn't seem to be any grants availableHave also looked on Princes Trust - but no luck
Looks like i'm gonna have to wait a year till i can get a loan! Thank you for your help though!! (unlike the negative attitude from omen666)0 -
Wasnt negative at all and not meant to be, just cannot see any money in that type of business anywhere these days. Have you researched it? Most other catering companies have all local events sewn up and there are more than enough takeaways nowadays that you are fighting a losing battle0

Where we live there are not that many take aways, and the ones that are in our area, do not all deliver. Yes, i have researched it well thank you. There are many people who do not have a car and rely on public transport to get from the villages they live, into town. A majoritory of these people would like to have a fish and chip van that comes out to their village - it offers them the chance to have a take away, where as normally they wouldn't be able to as the buses do not run late in the evening. I appreciate your comment and fair enough - you weren't trying to be negative, but i did ask if anyone could help me on loans that me and my fiancee might be able to get... I didn't ask if anyone thought it might be worth us setting up this business or if there was any money to be made in it.0 -
if you think it could work then go for it. A couple of school dinner ladies did this about 18 months ago in my small backwater. Not sure where to get a loan but what about a sleeping partner? One life.0
