Best place for kitchens - Belfast/Lisburn

Hi

Im looking to fit a new darkish wood/wood effect kitchen. Im loath to go with B&Q but have quoted 4k so reasonable. Does anyone know any good kitchen suppliers with quality products? Im not brave enough to try and buy all the seperate bits myself so would like somewhere that can help me with that.

Thanks

  • i know its abit daunting BUT i can highly recommend IKEA kitchens.we have just put a new kitchen in and the whole process was really easy-we got an identical kitchen to the one i had priced in a proper kitchen shop quoted at £7000 and IKEA worked out around £1800 and included many more units eg 8 double bases to make the island bit and all the extra features you could shake a stick at-soft close doors, pull out larders, pull out baskets, extra deep drawers with organisers! tried to post a pic to give you an idea but i dont think we are allowed,or its just not working for me!the quality is fantastic and everyone who visits cant believe it was IKEA,and we built it ourselves!!!! oh you can pay to have it built and fitted for you but we choose to save that money and use it to buy the granite worktop(bought from a local granite supplier who again i would highly recommend, ikea dont do granite!) and im soooo glad we did as building it was a piece of cake and took us under 2 days! the guys in the kitchen department show you or will do for you the computer generated planner that you can also do from home-i did ours myself and it didnt make 1 mistake,it worked out all the spacing and sizes!!
good luck oh and dont go near B and Q........my friends was a disaster from start to finish!
    it takes more energy

Thats a fab price for a kitchen - do you happen to remember what Ikea charge for fitting their kitchens ??

  • Hi

Ikea doesnt do the wood effect we want otherwise we would got there. Im after a cherry/walnut colour. Where did you get your granite from as we are looking for a local supplier.

  • Hi, did you try any of the smaller kitchen fitters. I priced around for fitted bedroom units and cheapest price I got was Hanna Bros, Moyad Road in Kilkeel - they do kitchens too and are well priced and do an excellent job, and they will travel to Lisburn or Belfast to fit, no problem.

sorry dont know much about linking ! the cornicing ect isnt finished yet or the end panels but it gives you an idea of quality!
the granite comapany we used is appollo granite( http://www.apollo-granite.com/) in Co.Armagh and they were just superb, measured up one tuesday and it was fitted by the next...the other companys didnt even bother phoning me back for quotes ect! Very reasonable the whole kitchen wortops were done in black sparkle with upstands and a nice wee bit at the back of the cooker for £2500....half the price of the kitchen shops!!! they said the island piece was the biggest they had done-hubby says he will be a true MSE and reuse for his headstone, lol.
BOBS we didnt even ask about ikea fitting as i was told it would be expensive!

Ikea kitchens are nice, have designed and fitted them twice in my last homes. My advice would be not to buy there worktops (apart from solid wood one) as they do stain, burn and water damages them. Second advice - carcases sit right back against the wall - so if you have any external piping it will need to be tracked - good point here is you have more space in your cupboards.

Have you had a look at Mourne Granite?

As far as I know it's a good product. In a previous life I worked for a major kitchen retailer that used this company and there were few complaints.

If your looking for walnut theres a place in Camlough that sells wholesale kitchens. You just need to get someone organised who can install it all.

Bought mine a couple of years ago for £1200, Tiles cost £900, Installation and tiling cost £800 and appliances cost £800.
