Ah well.....story of my life, I suppose. Why I am not used to it, I don't know. Obviously I need more practice at crapness!

You not getting flowers for Mothers' Day is not crapness. Just an omission by those around you. Now you know what to hint for (IOW 'tell') your children to get you for next time.

Just keep them away from the cemetery...

Oh I wouldn't expect anything like that from them - if daffs were about, then a bunch of those might be nice, but a big bunch of flowers is out of their meagre budget, so would not ever be expected......I am quite happy, honestly, with them making me coffee, and generally being nice to me today!

That's why I couldn't believe how stupidly upset I got.....because it is not as though I would normally get anything like that, or that the children should think about spending money on me etc.

It was just that split moment of "ooh, something nice and unexpected is happening".....followed instantly by "no, of course it isn't.....your life isn't like that".....

Its just the whole emotional crapness that I seem to have had in bucketfuls these last few days, for one reason or another. I am more exhausted now than I was on Friday - and I thought weekends were supposed to be good for you!

The plan today is skiing all morning (kids, not me) then some matched bets to do this afternoon, plus a bit of paperwork that I need to get ready for the week. Usual pre-Monday washing, and then off to Mum's for roast dinner late afternoon.

Okay, this is from your early morning post. Just think about the roast dinner, and relaxing at your mum's, and promise us you'll have something nice as a sweet. You just need to get through a very little time now till you can go out and have a bit of social time.

    Thinking of you.

It's the thought that counts. Which may mean comping if all else fails...

It is harder to see a treat, and see it withdrawn, than never to have seen it at all. Something to bear in mind next time you go flashing your legs to all and sundry... ;)

Obvious then that you have never seen my legs, Z.........not something that would be seen as a "treat".......unless someone had a particular interest in cellulite and tree trunks :o:rotfl:

Sad that the flowers were not for you hypno. My daughter is away studying overseas this year and has managed to send me flowers. It is only a few years ago, well 6 to be honest, that she was 15, and in just a few years your children will be independent and sending you flowers too. So enjoy them while they're at home. I know you do anyway, I'm just trying to cheer you up not give you a lecture! hope you enjoy the time with your Mum.

I'm very impressed though that your son did so well on his first time out on "new" skis. And wow to under £13 for the dress. Will you post a photo when it arrives please?
