Returning goods to Amazon...how much will they deduct for P & P?

Long story but I ordered something online from Amazon then realised a couple of hours later that I didn't need it. I went to cancel but though it says it won't be despatched till next Tuesday i.e. nearly a week away it says I can't cancel and it's being prepared for dispatch.
I had it on Supersaver delivery.
If I return it, will I get my full money back as it says or do they deduct the cost of delivery? Or is the P & P that they deduct only the cost of returning it using one of their pre-paid labels? In other words, if I return it but pay the postage, will I get the full cost of the item back?

All good retailers have this information about returns on their help pages... it would probably be quicker if you just took a browse through, although it probably goes on a bit...
Probably quicker than waiting for an answer from someone here, who might not even tell you the right info too0 -
I was bored so I had a quick look lol and I was curious too! Heres a link..

Took about 30 seconds to find the answer by the way0 -
When it goes to dispatching soon its generally dispatched within a day or so even if the estimate is next week. They seem to be quick at dispatching at the moment even with super saver, guess they still have the extra christmas staff but not as many orders.0

I had a look at their site yesterday as I didn't know the answer to your question and having read their returns policy I still don't.
I would guess by their ommission there would be no costs to you (ie handling/delivery charge) if you paid for the return.
What I do know is that each time I have returned something it has been cheaper to use their prepaid label than pay for the postage myself so it might be worth checking that option first.
Hope this helps.

We had to return something to them, admittedly it was faulty, but they sent a prepaid label and we got the full amount back. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Thank you!
Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't think it's clear! I had seen that link - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=15753921 - but it doesn't explain if it's the cost of you returning it or the cost of them delivering it in the first place!0 -
Distance selling regulations state that within 7 days of reciept if you change your mind, you can organise a return of the product brought over the phone or internet and receive the full price you paid including original postage, no company can charge a handling fee or rewstocking fee or keep the orginal postage cost. Amazon should only charge for the return postage. If you pay for the postage yourself then Amazon should give you back the full refund. But remember if its there postage, then as long as you have proof of posting, any issue that arises due to the item not getting back to Amazon is for Amazon to resolve.if i had known then what i know now0

Thank you dnomyar for spelling that out. I'm fairly new to online shopping so I do appreciate you taking the time to explain things, probably not the last time you'll have to do it.:D

When you go through the returns process it tells you how much may be deducted for postage, however ive sent a few items back using the prepaid labels and have never been charged0
