Goodmans Freeview DAB GDB5E

I know it's not the cheapest freeview box around but it has a 2 line display & supports DAB DLS and programme information. You wouldn't need to have your TV on to see what you're listening to.

Am I right in thinking that digital radio that comes through Freeview is not DAB but just digital radio?.

512mb MP3 Player with SD flash card slot. Rather than the 512mb memory being built-in, it comes with a 512mb mini MMC card with SD adapter. Seems like a neat idea, you could use the memory in your camera as well.

It also has a built-in FM radio & 2 headphone sockets

The GDB5 is one of a kind (well one of two actually) that has built in DAB as well as freeview. The only drawback I read about is that it uses the TV aerial as the DAB aerial, and they ideally should be two seperate ones as they should be quite different. Not a bad buy though by the seems of it, it has a strong tuner, although the box is getting on in years now (2004) I don;t think it ever got to support the 7day EPG. It's also very different to every other Goodmans box out there and I think now unsupported.

Overall, old unusual box, I think probably worth the punt at £25.

I know it's only a usb2.0 cable but it has a "swivel end" enabling it to fit into tighter spaces. These Elecom cables are very nice quality & the retail packaging is nice

Only problem is that at present, Ebuyer's delivery system is COMPLETELY up the creek.

Delivery dates are way off the mark due to their 'new logistics system'.

Currently waiting for goods that were due for Priority Delivery on Thursday and still have not got as far as 'Picking' stage yet.

Best avoided for a few weeks until they've got their act together I think.

That £3.67 card reader is excellent, I bought one a few weeks ago.

It's slightly different from the photo, but works well :D

A big thanks for Bingsy if only for the amount of work he/she put into these posts (which is not to say that the bargains are to be sniffed at!)

Thanks Mr Squiddy, nice of you to say so. I enjoy hunting.

Kilty, can you tell me how it differs from the one in the photo please because I've ordered one myself. Typical of Ebuyer to do this.

Just different packaging as far as I can tell, and that blue bit in the middle of it is not there.

Its just the same specification though and still comes with the cable (or mine did, you might recieve something different/the same as the photo :D)

If the Ministry of Sound MP3 player is of a similar quality to the CD player we got my son at Christmas from Boots it will be absolutely CRAP - suggest you save your money.
