Hi if you can get hold of a tin of condensed mushroom soup (used to be Campbells but now Batchelors) you could make a tuna fish pie - all you need is a tin of soup, a tin of tuna and some cooked sliced potato and cooked peas or sweetcorn and a little grated cheese
In a casserole dish layer potato, soup, tuna, soup, peas (or sweetcorn), soup, tuna, soup and finally finish off with another layer of potato. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in the oven for about 30mins at 200deg until warmed right through. NO measuring required - just spoon out and spread out each layer fairly evenly. Was a great favourite with my children (now adults). In fact my DD (now 28) said she had made it the other day0 -
places like B & M/Home Bargains tend to be really good for Batchelors condensed soups
my best tuna dish? boil pasta with some chopped onions, when cooked add can of condensed tomato soup, tuna, grated cheese and herbs, stir well and warm through. Almost instant comfort - it's a one-pot idea that I got from a Guider friend who makes it in humungous amounts at camp.0 -
Beki - we were in the same position with car tax & mot, but just got 6 months car tax. This means in June we'll get 12 months car tax so the impact is spread more evenly over the year. Sorry to go off topic!0

Thanks everyone for your replies.
Things are going very well so far. I've spent any of my £20 yet, although milk supplies are running low so I'll have to dip into it this week.
So far we've had:
31 Dec - tuna pasta bake (yum)
1 Jan - spag bol
2 Jan - tuna past bake (do you detect a theme here?)
3 Jan - spag bol
4 Jan - fish pie
5 Jan - fish pie

Don't forget that you can make the chicken breasts go twice as far if you make curry / stir fry / casserole / pie etc, as you will only need to use 10
